Donald Young reaches final in Del Rey Beach Open defeating Berard Tomic of Australia. Donald Young recovered from being a set down to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 for a spot in only his 2nd final of his ATP Career and first final since 2011.
At 25 year old young is playing some his best tennis both physically and mentally. He survived 13 aces from his Aussie opponent and saved 7 of 10 break points. On Sunday he will be playing for his first ever ATP Crown.
Young defeated the #3 seed Alexandr Dolgopolov in 3 sets on Friday to reach his second semi-final in two weeks. In Memphis Young came up short but with this renewed confidence he hopes to achieve what he has never done, win an ATP tour level tournament.
Young will face either 4th seed Ivo Karlovic or 5th seed Adrian Mannarino on Sunday for a chance at the trophy. He holds a 1-0 record against Mannarino and it would be the first meeting between him and the 6' 10", big-serving Croatian.
Karlovic and Mannarino are scheduled to play 8:00pm eastern.
