Donald Young Denied in Del Rey Beach Open

Donald Young Denied in Del Rey Beach Open

By Jawad Bisharat

Ivo Karlovic wins Del Rey Beach Open over American Donald Young 6-3 6-3. Young was seeking his first ATP Tour level victory but the 6' 10" Karlovic denied his that opportunity.

Karlovic dropped13 aces and saved 7 break points his way to a straight set victory. The Croatian become the oldest player to win the Del Rey Beach Open just one week short of his 36th birthday.

Young has nothing to hang his head about. Reaching the semi-finals in Memphis last week and the finals here at Del Rey Beach it was 2 great weeks of tennis.

Young is definitely playing some of the best tennis of his career surpassing his impressive semi-final result last week in Memphis. Not only does this put some money in the Americans pocket it will catapult his ranking as well as confidence for the remainder of 2015.
The USTA and American tennis fans have been waiting for D. Young to break out and at the age of 25 he is in his prime to start competing with the best in the world.
Many of today's top players are peaking later in their career and lets hope this is true for Young in years to come.
