Swiss Men Move Up in Rankings

Swiss Men Move Up in ATP Ranking

By: Jawad Bisharat

If it wasn't enough for Switzerland to have Roger Federer they now have Stan Wawrinka to cheer about. This week both Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka moved up 2 places in the ATP ranking and for the first time both are ranked in the top 5 in the world.

Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic remain in #1 and #2 in the world. They will be hard to catch however with Rafael Nadal carrying 13130 points for the #1 spot and Novak Djokovic currently with 10900 points for the #2 spot.

In their review mirror is a 6 player pileup with only 1380 points separating the #3 Stan Wawrinka and #8 Juan Martin Del Potro.

The next 2 months leading up to the French Open will give these top 8 players a real opportunity to make a move in the rankings.

Look for Federer to continue his strong play and push for the #3 spot. Federer coming off a tough year doesn't need to defend as many points as in prior years.

The ATP is heating up to be one of the most competitive seasons of late. Their is strong field of players and the big three as they once were are no longer the sure thing as Murray, Wawrinka, Ferrer and Berdych have all joined the party.
